About this file
Nature of Dread Guide is an independent, unofficial resource for Nature of Dread, a first-person action-horror game from Nature of dread Team. It is not affiliated with the studio, its publisher, or Valve.
What this site is for
The game was announced with a store page, a trailer and a single news post, and in the first days after that, most pages about it were rewrites of the same four paragraphs of store copy. Some of them filled the gaps with invented release dates, invented plot summaries and invented monster lists.
This site does the opposite. Every factual claim here traces back to one of three sources: the Steam store listing for the game, the studio's official news feed, or the game's official website. Where those sources are silent, the page says so rather than filling the silence.
How pages are written
Three layers, kept separate on purpose.
What the studio published. Quoted or closely paraphrased, with the surface it came from named. If the store page says the creatures learn, adapt and form packs, that sentence appears here and is attributed to the listing.
What that wording implies for play. Analysis, and written as analysis. When the store page says a weapon is jury-rigged, the conclusion that it is likely fragile is inference, and the page says so.
What nobody has published. Stated plainly, without a placeholder. If there is no release date, the page says there is no release date. If no GPU minimum exists, the page prints an empty spec table rather than a plausible one.
Dates and versions
Every page carries the date it was last checked against its sources. Because the game has not shipped, there is no version number to track — the field reads pre-release, and it will change the day the game launches.
When a page is corrected, the correction is dated. Nothing is silently edited.
Images
Screenshots and frames used on this site are official promotional material published by the developer on the Steam store page and in the official trailer. They are used here for reference and commentary, with attribution, and they remain the property of their owners.
Site imagery is not cropped to misrepresent the game. Where a frame has been brightened so that detail is visible on a dark display, it is still the same frame.
What this site does not do
- It does not publish a release date, price or system requirement that the studio has not published.
- It does not invent characters, endings, areas or enemy names.
- It does not sell keys, host downloads or link to unofficial copies.
- It does not run a comments section, a forum or an account system, so there is nothing to sign up for.
Corrections
If a page here is wrong, or a fact has changed, send the correction with a source through the contact page. Corrections with a link to the store listing, an official post or a developer statement are actioned first.
If you are the rights holder for any material used here and want it removed, say so through the same page and it will be taken down.
