File 4022950 — Nature of Dread — release date to be announced
Nature of Dread

News and updates

Quick answer

The public record starts in October 2026: the Steam page went live, then the studio published a Gameplay First Look announcement with a five-minute trailer, and press coverage followed the same day. Nothing else has been announced since.

The public record for Nature of Dread is short and recent. This page lists every dated milestone with the surface it appeared on, so you can tell an official announcement apart from a rewrite of one.

The gameplay reveal, in full

The studio's own announcement is the only piece of first-party communication in the record, and it is short enough to quote in its entirety in spirit rather than paraphrase badly.

It opens by describing the footage as "just a small glimpse into a world filled with unexplained phenomena and dangerous creatures", then says there is "still so much more we can't wait to show you". It closes by asking readers to follow development progress, comment, share the trailer and spread the word, and signs off with "your support means the world to our small indie team".

Three things can be read off that, and all three are useful.

The game is far from release. A studio that says it has more to show than it has shown is at the beginning of a campaign, not the end.

This is a self-funded or self-published project. The phrasing is that of a team asking directly for reach rather than announcing a marketing beat.

The developer communicates through Steam and its own channels, not through a publisher's press office. The listing's support block points to a Telegram channel and a contact email rather than a publisher page.

The press coverage

The same day, at least one outlet published a short piece describing the trailer and confirming the platform as PC via Steam. That coverage is derivative — it summarises the trailer and repeats the store description — and it adds one thing worth knowing: the game is being picked up by Russian-language media, which is consistent with the full-audio Russian localisation on the listing.

No hands-on previews, no interviews and no developer Q&A have been published.

What has not been announced

It is easier to list what does not exist than what does, and the list is short because the record is short.

  • No release date. The listing says to be announced.
  • No price. No purchase block exists.
  • No demo or playtest. Nothing to download.
  • No console versions. Windows only.
  • No publisher. The field reads TBA.
  • No soundtrack, art book or edition tiers. No DLC, no bundles, no supporter pack.
  • No roadmap. No "coming in 2027" style statement of any kind.

If any of those appears, it will appear on the Steam listing first, and this table gets a new row.

Where news will show up first

Three surfaces, in descending order of reliability.

  1. The Steam listing. Release date, price, demo availability and platform changes all surface here first, because that is the page the developer edits directly.
  2. The Steam news feed. Announcements, trailers and any demo or playtest news are published here, and wishlisting gets you an email.
  3. The official site and its Telegram channel. The site is a single page with a teaser and a wishlist button; the Telegram channel is where informal updates land.

Anything published anywhere else — aggregator wikis, "release date confirmed" articles, YouTube videos titled with a date — is downstream of those three, and in the case of the date, usually invented.

How this page stays accurate

Every entry above is dated and tied to a surface. When a new announcement appears, it gets a row with its date and its source, and the "last checked" line at the top of the table moves.

Nothing on this page is a prediction. If there is no row for a release date, it is because no release date has been published.
